Georgetown County Inmate Population is a private reference site, not a sheriff's office, jail, court, or government records desk. We cannot confirm custody, release an inmate, post bond, schedule a visit, or retrieve an official booking record. Those questions must go to the agency that holds the record or controls the custody decision.

Official Georgetown County Routes

Use the correct office for the type of question. Current county jail custody and booking-record issues route to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office or Georgetown County Detention Center. Formal court charges and prosecution questions route through the courthouse, Clerk of Court, or Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Solicitor.

South Carolina FOIA is found in Title 30, Chapter 4. For jail records that are not on the sheriff booking page, ask the sheriff or detention center for the record held by that office and include the person's full name, approximate booking date, date of birth if known, and the record type requested.

  • For someone in the Georgetown County jail, start with jail inmate records and then call the detention center if custody status is urgent.
  • For booking photos, use jail roster mugshots and the sheriff records route if a photo is not posted.
  • For charges filed after arrest, use court records after a jail arrest, the Clerk of Court, or the Solicitor's Office.
  • For facility-specific information, use the Georgetown County Detention Center page listed in the footer.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the South Carolina Department of Corrections locator, not the county jail roster.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP inmate locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator System because those are separate systems.
  • For custody and case notifications, use South Carolina VINE when notification registration is needed.
